My research is positioned at the intersection of material culture, cultural memory, heritage, visual culture, and practice-based enquiry. With a foundation in documentary photography and visual communication, my research practice is evolving to include not only photography but also objects, materials, locations, crafting techniques, narratives, and the individuals who possess this expertise.
Currently, my research delves into the weaving traditions of the Amazigh people in southern Morocco, starting with a Taznakht carpet and broadening to explore cultural knowledge, oral history, symbolism, and skill transmission across generations. In 2027, I plan to conduct fieldwork involving engagement with Amazigh women weavers to document how weaving knowledge is recalled, practised, and shared across generations.
