I am an emerging researcher, educator, and visual practitioner working across material culture, cultural heritage, cultural memory, and visual research.

I am a documentarian and researcher who dives into analogue photography, material culture, and semiotics. My work is a blend of visual research and academic study, using photography, symbolism, and slow methods to explore cultural memory. I mainly work with analogue formats, such as 35 mm film, Kallitype, and cyanotype. These techniques influence my thinking and research because they require attention, patience, and a hands-on approach to materials, light, and time. In this setting, photography is not just about quickly producing images; it is a way to explore and understand.

My research mainly focuses on the symbolism found in material culture. I have spent a considerable amount of time studying the symbolism in Amazigh carpets from Morocco. These woven designs are not merely pretty patterns; they actually tell stories about protection, movement, identity, and family history. By comparing these carpet motifs with Amazigh tattoo traditions, I am showing how textiles can be seen as living records, not just decorative pieces.

I have had some fascinating experiences in Prague, where I used analogue photography to capture graffiti and protest art, especially at the Lennon Wall. This project explores graffiti as a temporary symbolic language, like a public archive that is always changing with repetition, erasure, and global political conversations.

In my teaching, I have worked with multimedia students, using analogue photography to explore authorship, narrative construction, and material literacy. I am also doing ongoing research into cyanotype as a way to look at environmental responsiveness and storytelling through materials.
