One of the remotest countries on the map, Namibia with its vast sand dunes, cold Atlantic Ocean makes this a 4×4 enthusiasts dream and for people with children a creative holiday to keep them busy. The coastal water is too cold to swim in, the winds can reach up to 200 km/h and hot days and freezing nights. Dust storms and fog can cloud the holiday spirit.
We started on a Saturday and paused for the night at Vryburg and the next morning moved on to Upington. We stocked for the next week and went to visit the Augrabies Waterfall. If you can do go and lunch at the restaurant where you can sit and drink an ice cold beer overlooking the rock formation. The fish they serve comes from Alexander Bay and believe me I have eaten fish all over the world and this is the best I have ever had. It takes a while for them to prepare so be patient, BUT you will not be disappointed!
